Wide Mouth Glass Jar Forming with Compact Body Proportions

This footage shows wide mouth glass jar forming immediately after the container is released from the mold, revealing a distinctly short and broad jar profile while the glass still retains visible heat.

Unlike taller cylindrical containers, this design concentrates most of its volume across a low, wide body glass jar structure. The sides rise only a short distance before transitioning through softly rounded shoulders toward the large opening above.

The opening itself becomes an important part of the appearance. Its diameter is relatively large compared with the overall body height, while the clearly defined threaded finish creates a functional contrast with the smooth, rounded body below. Together, these proportions give the short glass jar a compact, substantial look.

The opened mold also provides a direct view of the simple rounded geometry used to establish the jar body during forming. For a custom glass jar shape, changing the relationship between body width, height, shoulder curvature, opening diameter, and base proportions can create a very different container identity even without additional surface textures.
